Our Finite Bank of Time

Hours and days and conventional ways
of compartmentalising our lives are just an attempt to displace

random chaos and the fear that creates
with our important illusion of control and an orderly place

We say Sunday I'll rest, Monday I'll work,
bartering our time for provision
We may pass their tests but where is the perk
when our exit from this game is not our decision
